Let’s have a do-over.
It’s like, a fresh eight to ten inches of clean snow to cover the dirt and grime from this last year.
Most, if not all of us have seen good. We have seen God at work. But for some reason we are carrying the heaviness this year delivered.
It’s time to set all that down. All that ways on us. We were not meant to carry it anyway.
So the countdown has begin. The minutes, hours, and seconds are peeling away slowly revealing a fresh coat of paint underneath for this new year. Ahh. I sense it. A fresh start. A new beginning.
Let that settle.
A. Fresh. Beginning.
God knows what we are going through. He has known since the beginning. Our beginning.
He knew we would perpetually need a redo.
We live in a fallen world, remember. And this world will not be resolved, redeemed until the second return of Christ.
Until then, let’s seek Him first.
Before we layout our plan for the year.
Before we lay our head to rest tonight or let our feet hit the floor in the morning.
Let’s decide to seek, put, place Him first in all we do.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” — Matthew 6:33-34
And this week we begin with giving Him thanks.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil. 23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24
Start here.
Let’s see how this goes.
