THE CHOSEN ON THE AMAZON RIVER

On a quiet bend of the Amazon River, where the water moves slower and the stars feel closer, Christmas arrived without fanfare—but with wonder.

A generator hummed. A white sheet was stretched between wooden posts. Families gathered by lantern light, children barefoot in the red earth, elders seated with hands folded. For many of the 3,000 river communities, this was not just another night—it was a holy interruption.

As the screen flickered on, Jesus spoke in Portuguese, clear and close, as if He had stepped off the riverbank and into their village. Laughter came easily. Tears followed without shame. The story they had heard all their lives now had faces, voices, and warmth. Emmanuel—God with us—felt unmistakably with them.

This night was made possible through a partnership between Come and See Foundation, Bible Society of Brazil, and the faithful work of Larry Lundstrom, Global Ambassador—carrying the story of Jesus where roads do not go, but rivers do.

No cathedral bells rang. No city lights glowed. Yet heaven leaned in.

In the deep Amazon, Christmas was not rushed. It lingered.
And under that canopy of stars, The Word became flesh—again—on a riverbank far from the world, but never far from God.
