Find. Fix. Finish.

Alaska-BW-FindFixFinish

The objective is simple.

Find your purpose.

Fix your eyes on it.

Finish it with everything you have. All you are.

Then you will be fulfilled.

Too easy right?

The hard part is knowing where to begin. If I had to guess, I’d say your purpose is built into every molecule of your DNA. Isn’t DNA what codes our form, our mind, muscles, bones, hair color? It’s sends the signal and blueprint which commands who we are.

What if that DNA was derived from the author’s makeup? And what if that derivative is more than just code? I like to think that in-between the lines of that code are the instructions that cause our essence, personality, interests, talent, passion, and within a greater scheme — purpose.

It is an architecture.  And this architecture, this blueprint, and plan is built around a larger purpose. A mission.

What I love about our makeup and through the process of discovery, searching, seeking is we also can find this greater will, purpose, or whatever you want to call it.

If you ask my kids and those closest I love to ask the question, ‘Where do you want to be in five years?’ The answer to this question truly causes each of us, in my opinion of course, to lift up the hood and dig around the engine to find out, what we were truly made to do.

So, a few years ago I connected, through a friend who loves activating leaders and seeing men come alive in their purpose, a Chief Operating Officer of an Army base. This leader of leaders was in charge of more than 100,000 men. He shared with us the many years of his service, the high and low points, the dreams fulfilled, regrets, and then lit up when he got to this one thing. His found purpose.

This COO of an army base spent years in the trenches of his own ugly humanity, with a void and absence in purpose only those closest to him could see. And those closest paid a price for those front row seats.

Man. This got my attention. It sounded so familiar.

How long do each of us take to find, test, focus-in, and begin to work towards living out our true purpose?

This last few week’s I’ve spent many hours reading through the book of Jeremiah and also Matthew and learning new truths about how we were made, the will of the one who ultimately built and wired us.

I can’t wait to share more. Find. Fix. Finish.

The first talk is available online. Second coming up this week.
